Obituary
MAUREEN CHRISTY, age 88, a resident of East Prairie formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Monday evening, July 30, 2012, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
She was born December 7, 1923 in Pasadena, CA to the late Edgar and Laura Mary Cooper Williams. She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1968 where she was employed at St. Francis Medical Center for several years prior to moving to East Prairie. She was of Catholic faith.
On June 14, 1943 she married Albert Clyde Christy who preceded her in death on October 25, 1986.
She is survived by one son, Richard Christy of Jonesboro, AR; two daughters, Ann McMahan of Henderson, NV and Elizabeth Christy of Kennett; one brother, George Williams of Marietta, CA; 5 grandchildren, Sean McMahan of Arlington, TX, Robbin Hansen of Vancouver, WA, Michelle Pierce of Jonesboro, AR, Jennifer McMahan of Elk Grove, CA, Kristen Lavechek of Sammamish, WA; and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2012, at the McMikle Funeral Home. Father Glenn Eftink, pastor of St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
