Obituary

MAX L. MICHAEL, SR., Age 92, a resident of Charleston, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born January 6, 1920, at Diehlstadt, MO, to the late John and Ada Cooper Michael, he was a graduate of Diehlstadt High School and had lived in Charleston most of his life. He had been employed with the United States Postal Service as a Clerk at the Charleston Post Office for 28 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Charleston, was a 50 year member of both the Charleston Masonic Lodge No. 407 AF & AM and the Order of the Eastern Star and was a Royal Arch Mason. He was U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.

On January 17, 1944, he married Consuella Mae Gier, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are: two sons, Max Michael, Jr., and Ronnie Michael of Charleston; one sister, Marie Bollinger of Benton; six grandchildren, Sarah Dovin, Shelby Alexander, Robert Michael, Jennifer Michael, Marilyn Michael and Lee Michael; also 10 great grandchildren.

Vistation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 4, 2013 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Don Merideth of Charleston, will officiate.

The Charleston Masonic Lodge will conduct Masonic Rites followed by Military Graveside Rites at 1:00 p.m., Friday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.

Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
