Althea Maxine Dickson, the daughter of George Thomas and Elizabeth Lewis Thomas was born November 12, 1946 in Dorena, Missouri. She was one of three siblings, two girls and one boy. Her parents, George Thomas and Elizabeth Lewis Thomas, Sister Katie Lewis and brother Willie Thomas, husband James Lee Dickson, Sr, and son Tony Lee Dickson have all preceeded her in death.
On Friday, February 14, 2025, Althea Maxine Dickson transitioned to her heavenly home at the age of 78 years old, to be with her true love James Lee Dickson Sr., on 'Valentines Day" whom she was married to for over 60 years. Affectionaly known as 'Maxine,' she passed peacefully in her sleep at Aspire Nursing Home in East Prairie, Missouri. She was of the Christian faith.
Maxine was united in Holy Matrimony to James Lee Dickson, Sr. on July 27, 1964 in Pinhook, Missouri. To this union there were 9 children born, 6 boys and 3 girls.
Althea Maxine Dickson is survived by her children, James Dickson, Jr. of Houston, Texas, Elizabeth (Anthony) Bogan, Katina (Jeremy) Lewis, Katie (Quinton) Sanders, Steven Dewayne Dickson and James Junior Dickson, all of East Prairie, Missouri. Terry Lee Dickson of Joplin, Missouri and Jeffrey Allen Dickson of Mineral, Missouri. Althea Maxine Dickson is also survived by 27 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon, Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the Powerhouse of God Church in East Prairie, with the pastor, Jimmy Allen, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
