Merle Ellen Greer, 78 a life-long resident of this area, died Saturday, March 24, 2018 at her daughter's home near Sikeston.  She was born August 14, 1939 in Bell City to the late Leonard Jewell "Joe" and Bernadette Marie (Easterbrook) McIntyre.  She was a member of Potter House Ministries and had been a cook at Barkett's Foodliner and at the Ramada Inn.  On March 22, 1958 she was married to Otis Leroy Greer in Morehouse and he preceded her in death April 6, 2016.  She is survived by 1 son, Daniel Leroy Greer of Salcedo; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Ellen & Johnny Jenkins of Sikeston; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; 6 brothers, Raymond McIntyre of Cairo, IL, Bobby Joe McIntyre of Bloomfield, Darris McIntyre of Bell City, Leroy McIntyre of Sikeston and Darrell McIntyre and Curtis McIntyre both of Jackson; and 3 sisters, Barbara Myers of Dexter, Sharon Coleman of Ocala, Florida and Esther Abbott of Bloomfield. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by 1 son, Benny Greer, 1 daughter, Lisa Lathum, 1 daughter-in-law, Hilda Greer and 1 grandson, Dustin Greer and by 3 brothers and 1 sister.  Visitation will be Tuesday, March 27 at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 11:00 am until time for services at 1:00 pm.   Rev. John Givens, pastor of Potter House Ministries will officiate and burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield.  Active pallbearers will be John-Erik Jenkins, Joey Greer, Deborah McIntyre, Curtis McIntyre, Darrell McIntyre and Darris McIntyre; honorary pallbearers will be Bethany Jenkins-Hughes, Jenny Lathum, Sierra Greer, Bobby Joe McIntyre, Leroy McIntyre and Raymond McIntyre.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at blanchardfuneral.com.
