MICHAEL JOHN CALVIN, SR., age 66, a resident of Diehlstadt, died Friday, January 07, 2011 at Sikeston, Missouri.
Born February 26, 1944, at Kansas City, Kansas, to the late Lloyd and Virginia Mae Caudle Calvin, he had lived in Diehlstadt since 2006 and was employed as a broker with C & G Logistics. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Diehlstadt and had served in the U.S. Marines during Vietnam.
On March 28, 2006, he married Kandy Lynn Brannon who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: two sons, Lloyd Calvin or Orlando, FL and Michael John Calvin, Jr., of Way Cross, GA; one daughter, Cassie Calvin of Orlando, FL; one stepson, James "Ricky" Ramsey, Jr., of Diehlstadt; one sister, Rebecca Robinson of Kansas City, MO.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Calvin and David Calvin.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 13, 2011 from 9:00 am. until time for prayer service at 9:45 a.m. at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the Missouri State Veteran Cemetery at Bloomfield, MO. Bro. Darin Watkins, pastor of the First Southern Baptist Church of Diehlstadt, will officiate.
Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
