Michael Robin Cornell, age 71, died Friday, August 10, 2018, at his residence in Sikeston.

He was born March 26, 1947 in Kellogg, ID to William Lyle and Emily Hughes Cornell. A graduate from Kellogg High School,  he enlisted in the US Air Force. Following his discharge, he enrolled at the University of MO/Columbia where he graduated in 1974 with Bachelor of Science degree in Business. He was employed with MO Department of Corrections in facilities at Chillicothe and Charleston until his retirement and was a farmer in Mississippi and Scott Counties. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Sikeston, an avid golfer and member of the Charleston Country Club and the Charleston Men's Golf Association.

He is survived by one son, Jonathan Cornell from Forrest City, AR; one grandson, Zane Cornell of Sunrise Beach; and his special friend, Lynda Muench of Sikeston.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Lee Cornell and Robert Dale Cornell.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Sikeston where the Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Carl Muench of Cape Girardeau will serve as lay officiant.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1010 N. Main Street, Sikeston, MO 63801 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Interment will be in the Kellogg City Cemetery in Kellogg, Idaho.
