Michael Allen Milam, age 61, died Sunday, April 26, 2026, at his home near New Madrid, MO.
Born February 3, 1965, at Sikeston, Missouri to the late James David “J.D.” Milam and Nellie Mae Milam, he grew up in Valley Springs, Arkansas, and at the age of 18 moved to New Madrid County, MO when he took employment with Noranda, and would remain there until its closing. Mike later in life obtained his degrees in manufacturing and business. He was active in the well being of Noranda employees by participating in the Union. In his free time, he loved to write, cheer on his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks and return to the mountains where he called home. Mike carried on his family’s legacy of hard work and integrity. He took pride in passing on words of wisdom and doing projects with his son Jayme. He also had a great sense of humor and intelligence. Most of all, Mike was a man who loved and cherished his family, especially his grandchildren.
On April 25, 1998, he married Melissa Marie Moore, and she survives of the home.
Also surviving is his son, Jayme (Hayley) Milam of Sikeston; his daughter, Chelsea (Joey) Isbell of Sikeston; stepdaughters, Sara (Blake) Henry of New Madrid, Mandy (Larry) Barr of Kennett, and Jessie Chapin of New Madrid ; his grandchildren, Seth, Carson, Elliott, Maysen, Elizabeth, Houston, Lincoln, Mason, Sadie Grace, Greyson, Simon, Olivia, Emily and two precious ones on the way. Also surviving are his brother, Tommy Milam of Conran, MO; his sister, Pat (Tom) Drummond of Fenton, MO and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with his parents, preceding Mike in death were his brother Gary Milam, sister-in-law Linda Milam, and his beloved companion, Cocoa.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2026, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston, MO. The Rev. John Weaver, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Blodgett Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be Blake Henry, Joey Isbell, Brad Milam, Jason Byrd, Banks Byrd and Stan Ivie.
