MICHAEL LYNN WALKER, age 39, a resident of Sikeston, formerly of Charleston, died at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2011, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born December 18, 1971 in Charleston, he was the son of Trudie and Kenneth Knupp who survive of Anniston. A 1990 graduate of Charleston High School, he had lived in Sikeston since 1997 where he attended the Tanner Street Church of God. He was employed by the State of Missouri as a Maintenance Supervisor at the Southeast Correctional Center in Charleston.
On February 1, 1997 he married Melissa Rodery who survives of the home.
Also surviving are one son, Brandon Michael Walker and one daughter, Madison Paige Walker, both of Sikeston; four sisters, Michelle Wallace of Morley, Tammy Smith of Sikeston, Melissa Housman of Anniston, and Natalie Powell of Scottsboro, AL; two step brothers, Shawn Knupp and Berry Knupp both of East Prairie; one step sister, Mattie Turner of East Prairie; his mother and father in law, Brenda and Ken Rodery of Sikeston and one sister in law, Debbie Rodery of Sikeston.
One brother, Richard Mansfield, his maternal grandparents, William Ray and Aghatha Martin and his paternal grandparents Albert and Betty Lee Walker, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August, 23, 2011, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Tim Russell, pastor of the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery
Pallbearers will be Sean Slayer II, Larry Redden, Jimmy Housman, John Smith, David Perkins, and Earl Bohnert.
