Mickeal L. Quillman, Sr. died at his home, in Sikeston, Tuesday Nov. 27, 2012.
He was born March 6, 1952 at Chester, Illinois to Ruby Pearl (Farris) Quillman who survives of Pinkneyville, IL and the late Marion Lavern Quillman.
A resident of Sikeston since 1995, "Bro. Mike", had pastored Emmanuel Baptist Church and was currently a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. They had previously resided and pastored churches in Jonesboro, Ark and Kennett, MO. He was also owner of Quill & Son Construction Co.
On Nov. 27, 1970 he was united in marriage to Trienna June (Coke) at Sparta, IL and she survives of the home.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Mickeal L. Jr. and Sharon Quillman of Jonesboro, Ark and Jonathan Quillman of Muskogee, OK.
3 daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Bryan Cole of Jonesboro, Jessica and Justin Mercer of Sikeston and Patricia and David Griswell of Sikeston.
One brother, Robert Quillman of Pinkneyville, IL and 2 sisters-in-law, Cathy Quillman and Chris Quillman also survive. His 14 grandchildren he loved so dearly are Mickeal L. Quillman, III, Brandon Cole, Matthew Quillman, Gabrielle Cole, Kaitlyn Quillman, Andrew Cole, Mollie Pearl Cole, Savannah Cole, Lincoln Quillman, Haven Cole, Payton Mercer, Drake Griswell, Lucas Quillman and Ender Mercer. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jeff Quillman, Dennis Quillman and Gary Quillman.
Friends may call from 5 until 8 pm Thursday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Visitation will then be held from 5 till 8 pm Friday at Loyalty Missionary Baptist Church at Sparta, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday at Loyalty Missionary Baptist Church with Jerry Adams, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church of Sikeston and Tommy Foster, Pastor of Loyalty Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Swanwick Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard Funeral Chapel. Pall-bearers will be Brandon Cole,
Mickeal Quillman III, Matthew Quillman, Justin Mercer, David Griswell and Bryan Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be his other grandchildren.
