Rosetta M. "Mickey" Holyfield, 83, a life-long resident of Sikeston, died Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born in Sikeston November 1, 1934 to the late Foncie and Rena (Reeves) Poe. She was married to Henry J. "Cotton" Holyfield Sept. 3, 1949 in Piggott, Arkansas and he preceded her in death Feb. 15, 2006. Mickey had been a teller at the Bank of Sikeston and had later worked at First State Community Bank in Cape Girardeau. Along with her husband, Cotton, she owned the Holyfield Flying Service for 27 years and from 1968 to 1978 helped manage the Sikeston Municipal Airport. A long-time member of Chapter #137 Order of the Eastern Star, she had held many local offices as well as The District Deputy Grand Matron twice, Worthy Matron twice, and Grand Representative of Oklahoma. She was also a member of the Sikeston Elks Lodge #3319, a member of Hunter Memorial Presbyterian Church and an avid Cardinal fan. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Tara Holyfield of Scott City; 2 granddaughters, Shelley Eckelmann of House Springs and Alyssa Groeteke of St. Peters; 2 step-grandsons, Canden Conner and Kalen Conner both of Scott City; 2 great-granddaughters, Haley Layne Eckelmann of House Springs and Autumn Rose Groeteke of St. Peters; 1 brother Don Poe of Sikeston; 1 brother-in-law Carl Holyfield, Jr. of Sikeston; and 1 special adopted daughter, Jill Fetters of Sikeston. Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by 1 son, Rickie Lee Holyfield and 1 brother, Zural Satterfield. Visitation will be Monday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 4:00 pm until time for Eastern Star Rites at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Tuesday at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mark Anderson, pastor of Lynnwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Brewer, Jim Brewer, Randy Grant, Dennis McGarity, David Fetters and Nelson Guth.
