Obituary

Molly Rose Wade Evans, was taken home to a place without pain and suffering on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

Molly was born second daughter, fifth child of the late Rice William Wade and Anna Lucille Reynolds Wade on January 5, 1939, at home in Luxora, AR.

Upon moving to Missouri, she was active in high school and busy helping her mom around the house.  She was a high school cheerleader and a 1957 graduate of Diehlstadt High School.

She worked several years as a secretary for Bell Telephone and worked several decades as an election official for the Sandywood Township.  Her main love other than family was being outside.  She loved working in her yard, pulling grass, watering flowers and riding the mower no matter the heat.

On May 20, 1989, she married the love of her life Norman Lee "Punk" Evans.  She became the true farmers wife from helping to deliver calves, feeding and watering the cattle, to mending fences.   He preceded her in death March 12, 2006.

She is survived by her two daughters, Diann (John) Miller of Blodgett and Dayna (Rob) Laseter of Carson, IA; two grandsons,  Clay (Liz) Miller of Fairmont, WV and Joseph (Sarah) Miller of Pilot Knob, MO; five great grandchildren, Paxton, Sophia, Baylee, Delaynie and Jensen Miller; three sisters, Christine Rice of Blodgett; Peggi (John) Byrd of Wappapello and Judi (Bill) Leeming of Houston, MO; two sisters in law, Anne Wade (best friends since 1957) of Blodgett and Jean Wade of Sikeston.  Numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her younger sister, Mary Lucille Wade and three older brothers, Earl (Junior) Wade, Kelles Wade and Charlie Wade

Family and friends may assemble for graveside services at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Blodgett Cemetery.  Russell A. Rice of the Blodgett Church of Christ, will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Miller, Mark Wade, Tom Wade, Tommy Wade, Jason Byrd and Banks Byrd.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clay Miller, Zack Weiny, John Byrd and Bill Leeming.

McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
