NORMA JEAN MADDOX, 89, a resident of Sikeston, died Monday, February 24, 2020, at the Integrity Nursing Center in Carbondale, IL.
Born August 15, 1930, at Crowder, MO, to the late John Ransom Sherry and Bessie Gladys Daniels Sherry, she had lived in Sikeston most of her life.
Surviving is her daughter, Sharon Grots of Forsyth, MO; one grandson, Shane Allen Smith of Sikeston; granddaughter, Amy L. Gorski of St. Peters, MO; brothers, Allen D. Sherry of Columbia, MO; Gerald Sherry of Cambria, IL and Ronald W. Sherry of Collinsville, IL; sisters, Betty Lee Smith of Carbondale, IL; Laura J. Young of Bonne Terre, MO and Peggy J. Whittom of Fairview Heights, IL; several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and a number nieces and nephews survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Lou Vangilder and Wanda L. Withers.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2020, in the Charleston Chapel of McMikle Funeral Home. Rev. George Rendelman, pastor of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Blodgett Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.
