Norma Jean (Tee) Marshall
Norma Jean Marshall passed away peacefully at her home on November 3, 2023, surrounded by her adoring family.
Norma Jean was born October 15, 1929, in Matthews, Missouri to the late Lee and Alma Woodruff Skaggs. On July 18, 1946, she married the love of her life, the late Buddy Marshall. When the two of them were together "there was no one else in the room." During their 64 years of marriage, they welcomed two daughters, Deborah Kratky of Charleston, Missouri and Ann Marshall of Naples, Florida. She considered Rebel Story Dugan of Charleston her third daughter.
Her early married life was centered around her family, and she later partnered with her husband in his business. She was honored as Charleston's Woman of the Year in 2008.
Norma Jean was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church. She served as a founding member of the local CCW. She attended the one hundred fiftieth year celebration of St. Henry Church as the oldest living member.
A self-taught artist, Tee created many smiles with her love of flowers - whether by decorating the altar at church or crafting over 1000 framed memorial flowers. She was a woman of countless friends including the famed LOL's. She found endless energy in the service of others and inspired all in her presence with an indomitable inner strength, wisdom, dignity, and humility. Her countless acts of generosity, large and small, were always done modestly and quietly.
She was the cherished "Tee" of four grandchildren: Edgar (Lauren) Marshall IV of Ridgeland, MS; Katie (Dr. Hunter) Brown of Naples, FL; Wesley (Jennifer) Jackson of Prairieville, LA and Lauren (Jonathan) Taylor of Huntsville, AL.
She also leaves behind her devoted and loving great-grandchildren, Mamie and Archer Marshall; Adeline, Ann-Campbell, and Emerson Brown; Conner, Layla, Natalie, Emily, and Ava Jackson; Hayes, John Marshall, and Winston Taylor. Each takes forward fond memories of love, compassion, laughter, and treasured recipes.
Besides her husband and parents, Norma Jean was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill, Robin, infant Buddy Joe Skaggs and son-in-law, Robert Kratky.
