Opal Marie Merriman, 91, died Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Sikeston Convalescent Center. She was born June 27, 1923 at Doniphan to the late Jess and Minnie L. (Hall) Robinson. A resident of Sikeston since 1946, she was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ and had been employed at King's Laundry and the Daily Standard. On Dec. 23, 1942 she was married to Ray P. Merriman in Doniphan and he preceded her in death March 3, 1984. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Kilmer of Sikeston; one son-in-law, Bill Pinnell of Wappapello; 1 brother Lloyd Robinson of Grand Rapids. Mich.; 1 sister, Sue Cooper of Rockford, IL. Also surviving are 2 granddaughters,
Sarah Matthews and Leigh Bishop, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Janice Pinnell, 1 grandson, Timmy Pinnell and 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel Thursday, May 21, from 10 am until time for services at 1:00 pm. Patrick Hogan, minister of Shady Acres Church of Christ will officiate and burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
