ORVELLENE BRITT GAGE, age 78, of Diehlstadt, died Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born February 4, 1943, at East Prairie, MO, to late James Orville and Frances Jeanette Tyler Britt, she had lived in the Diehlstadt community of Scott County most of her life where her husband farmed and she had been employed as the activity director of the Bertrand Nursing Center.

On September 21, 1963, she married Dale Gage, who preceded her in death on June 27, 2006.

Surviving are her sons, Jeff (Jill) Gage of Commerce and Greg Gage of Jackson; her grandchildren, Bryant Gage and Britt Gage of Cape Girardeau and Addie Gage and Tyler Gage of Jackson; great granddaughter, Raelynn Jane Gage; brother, Jimmy (Carolyn) Britt of Jackson; sisters, Betty (Perry) McCarver of St. Charles, Patty Britt of East Prairie and Joyce Barker of Sunset, TX; also, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Frankie Skelton.

Family and friends may assemble at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston for graveside services.  Martin Lucas of East Prairie will officiate.

Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
