Oscar Allen "Bud" Smith

Oscar Allen “Bud” Smith, age 75, of Morehouse, MO, died Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO.

Born June 2, 1950, in Sikeston, MO, to the late Oscar Smith, Sr. and Maryel Smith Neal, he was a U.S. Marine having served from 1969-1973 during the Vietnam era. He was the recipient of three purple hearts. For a number of years he lived in Clinton, OK, before moving to Morehouse, Missouri. He was a member of the Sikeston V.F.W., the American Legion of Sikeston and had attended the First General Baptist Church of Morehouse. For many years he worked as an electrician until his retirement.

He was first married to Jackie Boyer Smith who preceded him in death in 2004. In 2005, he married Connie Louise Dock, and she preceded him in death in 2017.

Survivors include his daughters, Stacy (Veronika) Dock and Wendy (Steve) Hamill; his grandchildren, Sonny Dock, Celeste Hailey, Chloe Dozier and Fritz Hamill; his sisters, Myrtle (Dennis) Hendrix and Paula (Henry) Johnson, also a number of nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Raymond Neal.

Memorial services with military honors will be held at a later date in Clinton, OK.
