Reflections of Life
Otis Ray Haynes was born September 2 , 1966 in Charleston, MO to the late Joe
Willie Haynes and Luvine Clark Haynes.
He is preceded in death by one daughter, Starlina Lashay Hines, two brothers Arnold Clark and Joe Willie Taylor, his maternal grandparents Johnny and Drewcella Smith Clark and his paternal grandparents Joy McCray and Susie Haynes.
Otis graduated from Charleston High School on May 21st, 1-985.
He joined Patricia J Haynes in holy matrimony on April 28th, 1998.
Otis was an amazing man. He had his own personal relationship with God. He loved all
the children and gained several nieces and nephews throughout his years, earning the
name "Uncle Otis." He was employed with the Charleston R-1 School District for well
over 30 years. When not working at the school he enjoyed his favorite hobbies; yard
work, washing cars, barbecuing, cracking jokes, and playing around with the kids.
Otis was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at
Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, MO, at the age of 56 years, 2 months, and 7 days old.
He lived to cherish his precious memories with his five daughters; Juanita Hines of
Kansas City, MO, Kendra Hines and Otaisha Haynes of Charleston, MO, Shaquail
Franklin of Bloomington, IL, T'Keyria Haynes of Hinesville, GA. His three sons; Otis
Haynes, O'Tinurris Howard, and Jo'Coreion Howard of Charleston, MO. Six
grandchildren; Marcuyrious Caldwell, Amondre Hines and Jacey Johnson of Kansas
City, MO, A'Keyria Horton and Kahyrria Hines of Charleston, MO and Jordan Franklin of
Bloomington, IL. The children he raised Quincy Hines, Jamaul Hines and Kadijuh Hines.
Five brothers; Jeffery (Shirley) Haynes of Fort Worth, TX, Ronnie Haynes of Kansas City,
MO, Tyrone Haynes and Joel (Jawanna) Haynes of Bloomington, IL and Donnell
Haynes of Charleston, MO, six sisters; Pothine Clark and Beverly Haynes of
Charleston, MO, Lanell Haynes and Regina Haynes of Bloomington, IL, Lisa Haynes
and Charlotte Kay Johnson of Kansas City, MO. His bonus baby Ky'Ann Haynes and a
special friend Cora Howard. A host of relatives and friends whom he loved and favored.
The body of Otis Ray Haynes will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Those wishing to pay their respects to Otis are asked to come during that hour.
The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. (NOON) with The Rev. Elder Steve Betts and Rev. Carolyn Kent, officiating.
Immediately following the services in the McMikle Chapel, the procession will leave for interment at the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
