Obituary

OVIE JANE OGBORN DUGAN, age 89, a resident of Charleston, formerly of Wyatt, died Thursday, July 10, 2014 at her son's home in Charleston.

She was born September 19, 1924 in the Birds Point community in Mississippi County to the late Frank and Mary Baugh Ogborn.

A graduate of Diehlstadt High School, she received her teaching certificate from Southeast Missouri Teachers College in Cape Girardeau then taught a few years in Mississippi County Rural Schools. She was a member of the Wyatt United Methodist Church until it's closing in 2005 at which time she transferred her membership to the Charleston United Methodist Church.

On December 23, 1945 she married James Glennon Dugan who preceded her in death on November 26, 2007.

Surviving are two sons, Mike (Debbie) Dugan of Pensacola, FL and Mark (Rebel) Dugan of Charleston; four grandsons, Jason Dugan, Shawn Dugan, Holt Dugan, and Boothe Dugan; and four great grandchildren, Rebecca, J.D., Kyle and James Dugan.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Fred Ogborn; and two sisters, Lucille Welch and Dorothy Bailey.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the home of her son, Mark Dugan. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the Charleston United Methodist Church. The pastor, Rev. David Collum, will officiate.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jason Dugan, Shawn Dugan, Holt Dugan, Boothe Dugan, and her nephews, Dennis Bailey, David Bailey, Raymond Ogborn, and Cliff Dugan.

Honorary pallbearers will be, James Pollock, James Conn, Lee Goodin, Joe Sevic, David Williams, Chris Dugan, Clay Dugan, Clark Dugan, Jim Cullison and Randy Arington.

Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
