PAMELA DENICE (NICHOLS) WHITTINGTON, died at 1:17 a.m., Sunday, October 05, 2014, on her 60th birthday at her home in rural Charleston.
Born October 5, 1954, at Blytheville, AR, to the late Albert Leroy and Beatrice Geraldine Jennings Nichols, she grew up in Steele, MO and was a 1972 graduate of South Pemiscot High School. She had worked as an insurance agent for Delta Insurance Agency and enjoyed many years working with her husband at Mid-Valley Irrigation in Charleston. A member of the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston, she played the bass guitar with the worship team, was a member of the choir, served as a Sunday school teacher for many years and had been both a member and president of the Ladies Group (WM's).
On June 2, 1972, she married Jerry Allen Whittington, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are two daughters and sons in law, Jennifer Lynn and Christopher Allen Hall of Sikeston; Laura Beth and Christopher Todd Scott of the Dogwood Community; one sister and brother in law, Deborah Lynelle Nichols Gilmer and Kenneth Stephen Gilmer of Heber Springs, AR; one sister in law, Brenda Kay (Mike) Scott of Paris, TN; one brother in law, David (Joyce) Whittington of Rapid City, SD; her mother in law, Alice Marie Whittington of Charleston and 6 grandchildren, Elizabeth Rene Hall, Makenzie Kate Pullen, Kaylee Brooke Hall, Christopher Todd (Brittany) Scott, Jr., Tyler Brooke Scott and Cambree Lee Ann Scott. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones, family and many friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her father in law, Oscar Whittington, Jr.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Rev. Gerald Penn, pastor and Rev. Larry Lacey, associate pastor of the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston along with her brother in law, Mike Scott, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: B.C. Grice, Justin Scott, Jimmy Aubrey, Austyn Humphrey, Robert Daniel Murphy, Cory Dean and Joshua Nelson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Elott Raffety, Fred Ferrell and Harold Pierce.
