Obituary

John Patrick "Pat" Hogan, 68, died Friday, May 4, 2018 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.  He was born July 24, 1949 in Memphis to the late Patrick Lenard and Blanche (Haynie) Hogan.  He attended Freed-Hardeman College, and received his Masters Degree from Harding University Graduate School of Religion  in Memphis, TN  and had previously  been a minister at Green Forest Church of Christ in Poplar Bluff and Kemp Church of Christ in Arcola, Illinois.  Pat had been associate minister at Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston since December, 1985.  On October 23, 1976 he was united in marriage to Teresa Tatum in Memphis and she survives of the home.  Also surviving are one son, Ryan Hogan of Nashville and one daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Micah Redding also of Nashville.  Other survivors include 3 brothers, Lee Hogan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Len Hogan of West Memphis, Arkansas and Tom Hogan of Huntsville, Alabama.  Visitation will be held Monday, May 7, at Shady Acres Church of Christ, 1440 Ables Road in Sikeston from 4:00 pm until time for services at 7:00 pm.  Pat's close friend, Robert "Ernie" Hemingway, from Hindsboro, Illinois will officiate.  Graveside committal rites will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday at Springer Church of Christ Cemetery at Hohenwald, Tennessee with James Price of Sikeston officiating.  The family requests memorial contributions in his honor to:  The Pat Hogan Memorial Fund, c/o Shady Acres Church of Christ, 1440 Ables Road, Sikeston, MO  63801.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at blanchardfuneral.com.
