PATRICIA FAYE DOUGLAS HOSEY, age 76, of Sikeston, MO, died Friday, September 22, 2023, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born January 26, 1947, at Cairo, IL, to the late Charles Kenneth Douglas and Faye Jenette Wells Douglas, affectionately known as "Pat", she spent her younger years in Kentucky and moved with her family to the Sikeston area as a young girl and remained in Sikeston the rest of her life.  She was first employed as a waitress at Blackburn Grill and then answered a calling she truly loved as a pre-school worker taking a position with SEMO Christian Academy in Sikeston where she remained until ill health forced her retirement.    She was a master crochet artist and loved to make and share her many creations with her family and friends.    Pat faithfully attended Shady Acres Church of Christ for many years.

On June 4, 1966, she married Wallace "Gene" Hosey, who survives of the home.

Also surviving is her son and daughter in law, Tim and Stephanie Hosey of Scott City; her grandchildren, Gayle LaVerne "Trey" Rettig, III, Tori Menzel and Lindsey Campbell; her great grandchildren, Adelaide Menzel, Liam Campbell, Rowan Campbell and Niall Campbell; her brother and sisters, Rita Cooksey, Charlotte Tidwell, Kenneth Douglas and Sarah Wolffer; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Leslie Ann Rettig, her grandson, Dustin Ross Rettig and her brother, Gary Douglas.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston.  Keith Olbricht will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, MO, under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be: Trey Rettig, Gayle Rettig, Daniel Wells, Freddy Kenser, David DeHart and Terry Kellett.
