IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia Lou
Whitehurst
March 17, 1944 – February 1, 2019
PATRICIA LOU WHITEHURST, 74, died February 1, 2019, at her home near Sikeston, MO.
Patricia, also known as Nan to everyone, was born March 17, 1944, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to James Hargrove and Edna Howell, she married Stephen Elmer Whitehurst on August 28, 1985. She had 6 children, and is survived by 3. Tammy, Timothy and Kevin, as well as her 2 brothers, Jim and Jack Howell. She also has a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Patricia owned a janitorial business in Oregon and worked all the way up until she moved to Missouri in September of 2018. Her greatest achievement was the girl's home for troubled teens headed down the wrong path. Through love, courage and God, Patricia gave them home and courage to face the future and taught them about the love of Jesus Christ. She wanted her family and these girls to know that no matter where they were at, or what they were going through, they could always turn to her and God for strength and a safe harbor. The light of the Holy Spirit shown through her and her love touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with.
Patricia was a devout Christian, and a prayer warrior, who always said that "Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are my best friends." She strove to instill this love into her children, grandchildren and everyone she came in contact with. Patricia was greatly loved and respected by her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all that new her.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
