Paul E. Patterson, 85, a longtime resident of Sikeston, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015 at the Miner Nursing Center. He was born March 4, 1929 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to the late Roy and Nannie (Williams) Patterson He was retired from Federal Compress and Warehouse and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On January 8, 1954 he was married to Charlene M. Kehner in
Sikeston and she survives of the home. Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Roberta Patterson of Scott City; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Dan Fugate of Raytown, MO; one brother James (Glenda) Patterson of Farmers Branch, TX; and four sisters, Shirley (Robert) Ritchie of Charleston, Myra Kent of East Prairie, Joyce (Keith) Browne of Washington and Maxine Patterson of Abernathy, TX. Three grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Patterson and one brother and 1 sister. Graveside rites with full military honors were held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at the MO State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with Rev. DeWayne Coleman, pastor of Canalou Baptist Church officiating.
