PAULETTE BURNEY

MONICA PAULETTE PARR BURNEY, age 69, died Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at her home in East Prairie.

Born January 18, 1951, at East Prairie, to Delma Fern Purl Parr who survives and the late Charles Paul Parr, she had lived in East Prairie her entire life and was a 1968 graduate of East Prairie High School and went on to attend cosmetology school.   She was a loving wife and mother and loved to cook, read and collected things associated with the movie "Gone with the Wind."

On August 10, 1968, she married Rex Edward Burney who survives of the home.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her son, Rex Anthony (Jacque) Burney; her granddaughter, Ali Kirby, her mother, Fern Parr; brother, Calvin Parr and sister, Carla Heppe.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Edna Faye Parr and her grandmother, Monica Lee Hutton.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until the memorial service at 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2020 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.  Martin Lucas will officiate.
