PAULINE DAVENPORT, age 91, a resident of East Prairie formerly of Charleston, died Saturday, August 7, 2010, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
She was born January 15, 1919 in Cairo, IL to the late John and Mamie Mae Ellis Davenport and had lived in Mississippi County her entire life where she was member of the former Church of the Nazarene in Charleston.
Surviving are four sisters, Roxie Beyerbach, and Jo Alma Comstock both of East Prairie, and Elzora Robey of Campbell, and Dorothy Russell of Poplar Bluff; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, G.W. Davenport and James Davenport; and five sisters, Nora Lou Taylor, Beatrice Moody, Louise Strickland, Lorine Stancil, and Edna Berry.
Visitation will be Monday, August 9, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Raymond Hannah, pastor of the General Baptist Church in East Prairie, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Davenport, Harlan Russell, Anthony Moody, Marsha Poyner, Tina Griggs, and Alma Lee Wilson.
