PAULINE SUGG PATTON, age 90, died Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at her home in Charleston.

She was born December 20, 1929, on Chickalah Mountain, in Yell County, Arkansas, to the late Newman Ethridge and Lillie Horn Sugg. On October 23, 1949, she married Glenn Patton at the home of her parents.

In August of 1960, the couple moved their family to Charleston, where they made their home. Mrs. Patton was one of the charter leaders of the Lucky Clovers 4-H Club in Mississippi County. She actively led food and clothing projects at all levels. A member of the Mississippi County Historical Society, and an accomplished quilter, she chaired or co-chaired the society's quilt show for several years. She was a member of the American Quilter's Society and the First Baptist Church of Charleston.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Glenn Patton, two sisters, Mildred Allen of Belton, MO and Fern Wood of Danville, AR and her daughter, Deborah Patton of Charleston.

She is survived by her son, Raymond Patton of Sikeston and her daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Roy Presson of rural Charleston; two granddaughters, Amanda Martin and her husband Toby, of rural Charleston and Catherine Lesyna and her husband Justin, of rural Hillsboro, MO; and one great granddaughter, Tinley Ray Lesyna of rural Hillsboro, MO.

Private family graveside services will be conducted at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston. Rev. Gerald Collier will officiate.

Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
