PAULINE "POLLY" SIMMONS RAFFETY, Age 95, a resident of Wyatt, died Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born October 9, 1917, at Diehlstadt, Missouri, daughter of the late William Alfred and Dimple Barnwell Simmons, she had lived in Wyatt most of her life where she was a member of the Wyatt United Methodist Church until its closing and at that time became a member of the Charleston United Methodist Church.
On December 24, 1936, she married George Hunter Raffety, who preceded her in death July 21, 2002.
Surviving are: one son and daughter in law, Elott and Karen Raffety of Wyatt; two daughters and one son in law, Martha and Eugene Donsbach of Roswell, GA and Mary Raffety of Nashville, TN; one brother, Charles R. (Barbara) Simmons of Farminton, MO and one sister, Thelma (Allan) Baker of Independence, MO; five grandsons, Hunter Raffety, Bill Raffety, Tom Raffety, John Donsbach and George Donsbach; also, 10 great grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were there sisters, Martha Eisele, Betty Sue Russell and Lois Ann Pennebaker.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 17, 2013 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Geoff Posegate, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be her five grandsons and her nephew, Phillip Raffety.
