Pearl Edward Saulsbery, 81, a life-long resident of this area, died Sunday, Nov. 13 at his home near Sikeston. He was born September 4, 1935 in Sikeston to the late Estle and Pansy (Shryock) Saulsbery. He was of the Baptist faith, a retired truck driver from Thompson Culvert and a veteran of the U.S. Army. On June 30, 1958 he was married to Betty Lue Wyatt at Morehouse and she preceded in death Dec. 1, 2014. He is survived by 4 daughters: Margie (Perry) Gaskins of Sikeston, Eva (Bill) Westmoreland of Sikeston, Kathy (Alan) Oberbeck of Jackson and Loretta Franklin of Sikeston; 2 brothers: George Saulsbery of Bossier City, Louisiana and Charles "Buck" Saulsbery of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and by one sister, Polly Gilbert of Elsberry, MO. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and one sister. Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 10 till 11 am, Thursday, Nov. 17. The funeral will be in the chapel at 11:00 am with Rev. Kenneth Gibson, pastor of New Covenant Church at Wyatt officiate. Burial will follow at Dogwood Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers will be Edward Saulsbery, Charles Masegian, Jr., Kenneth Masegian, David R. Franklin, Jr. Alan Oberbeck and Perry Gaskins.
