Peggy Chapman, 79, formerly of Morley, died Saturday, December 4, 2021, at the home of her daughter in Cape Girardeau.

Born January 3, 1942, in Oran, MO, to the late Joe Raymond Montgomery and Maudie I. Denton. Peggy had worked at different places in her life, but her favorite was New Dawn State School. She enjoyed spending time with her grandson and getting out and about to see her aunts, sister and friends. Peggy was a member of the Morley Baptist Church and liked to go to the exercise class held there. She loved to read her Bible and listen to Christian music.

Surviving is her daughter, Kimberly Sue Dockins of Cape Girardeau, MO; one brother, Bobby Joe (Dorothy) Montgomery of Oran, MO; one half-brother, Danny Denton of Benton, MO; one sister, Margaret Johnson of Sikeston, MO; two half-sisters, Gail Butrum of Sikeston, MO and Carolyn Denton of Bloomfield, MO; and one grandson, Alexander William Dockins of Cape Girardeau, MO.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Montgomery and one sister, Linda Meals.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon, Friday, December 10, 2021, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Interment will follow in the New Morley Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
