Obituary

PENNY CHERYL ROSE COFFER, age 64, a resident of East Prairie, died Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Delta South Nursing Center in Sikeston.

Born May 6, 1957, at Wyatt, MO, to the late Billy Charles Rose, Sr. and Doris Evelyn Hayden Rose.  Penny had lived in East Prairie the last several years where she was a member of the First Christian Church.  Penny was always the life of the party and was an unselfish and giving person.  Family was important to Penny and caring for her parents was such an honorable duty for her right up to their passing.   She truly was a loving soul.

Surviving are her daughters, Heather (Bryan) Harrington and Megan Aters both of East Prairie; her grandchildren, Dakota (Meridyth Givens) Harrington, Brooklyn Harrington, Kyler Aters and Dawson Aters; her brother, Billy Rose, Jr. of East Prairie; her sisters, Karen (Eddie) Hedge of East Prairie and Vickie Rose of Sikeston; also, a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Wesley and Mary Marie Smith Rose and Lloyd and Thelma White Hayden.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2022, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2022.  Martin Lucas will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: Bryan Harrington, Dakota Harrington, Garry Lee Coffer, Devin Wierschem, Steven Kuykendall and Steve Ellis.
