John "Phillip" Payne, 74, formerly of Sikeston, died Tuesday, Spt. 12 at Woodland Hills Nursing Center in Marble Hill.  He was born Jan. 23, 1943 in Sikeston to the late Luther and Elphia (Kell) Payne.  He had lived in Michigan and Hawaii for a while but most of his life he resided in Sikeston and Chaffee.  He is survived by one brother Ron Payne of Lumber Bridge, North Carolina and by 5 nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters.  Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from noon until 1:30 PM Thursday.  Graveside rites will be at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev.
