PHILLIP HAYWOOD ROWLAND, age 85, died Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at his home in Wyatt.


Born December 8, 1931, at Belmont, MO, to the late Albert and Dathel M. Hayden Rowland, he had lived in Wyatt most of his life and had been employed as a shipping clerk with Valley Steel in Cairo, IL and a former member the Local Aerospace Workers Union.


On June 25, 1955, he married Anna Sue Pierce, who preceded him in death on September 30, 2010.


Surviving are one son, Phil (Tammy) Rowland of Charleston; one daughter, Karen (Larry) Turley of Charleston; one brother, Hubert (Julie) Rowland of Lombard, IL; one sister Sue (Jim) Kellett of Jackson; five grandchildren, Todd (Lacey) Hall of rural Sikeston; Phillip Seth (Andrea) Rowland of Memphis, TN; Zach (Ansley) Rowland of Spring Hill, TN; Samantha Turley (Danny) Cooper of Sikeston and Chuck (Cindy) Turley of Ashland City, TN; nine great grandchildren, Finn Hall, Grady Hall, Cecily Hall, Phillip Mark Rowland, Clayton Cooper, Abby Cooper, Amber Cooper, Shawn Cooper and Savanna Turley.


Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Billy Eugene Rowland.


Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2017, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Kenneth Gibson of Wyatt, will officiate.


Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.


Pallbearers will be: Todd Hall, Seth Rowland, Zach Rowland, Finn Hall, Don McCann and Phillip Johnson.


Honorary pallbearers will be: Buddy Self, Floyd Hawes, Lowell Hayden, Wallace Reeves.
