Raymond Ellery Dooley, age 83, died Thursday, October 26, 2023, at his home in Charleston, MO.

Born October 29, 1939, at Marston, MO, to the late Cordy Wallace Dooley and Lillian Dooley, he grew up in Southeast Missouri and moved to Northwest Indiana where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator and especially loved Wood Cutting.   After the death of his first wife, he returned to Southeast Missouri and settled in Charleston where he attended the First Assembly of God Church.

In 1958, he married Evelyn Lucille Graham, who preceded him in death in 2002.   He then married Ruth Ann Wicker Leffler, who preceded in death in 2021.

Surviving are his sons, Raymond E. (Kelly) Dooley, Jr., of Valparaiso, IN and Bryan Dooley of Portageville, MO; grandchildren, Shayne, Nichole and Brennan; great grandchildren, Katalina, Bailley and Reese and great great grandson, Waylon; his brother, Gary Dooley of Sikeston; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents and both wives, he was preceded in death by four brothers.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston.  The Rev. Dave McLucas, pastor, will officiate.

Interment will follow at Portage, Indiana, with McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
