Obituary

REBA WHITESIDE JOHNSON, age 99, a resident of Charleston, died Friday evening, February 26, 2010, at the Charleston Manor.

She was the fifth child, born on the fifth day, of the fifth month in 1910, in White County,. IL to the late William W. and Alice Hutchcraft Hargrave. She had lived in Scott and Mississippi Counties all of her life and was a member of the Miner Baptist Church.

One March 21, 1927 she married Ralph O. Whiteside who preceded her in death in July 25, 1977. She later married Bill Johnson who also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons and daughters in law, J.F. and Freda Whiteside of Cape Girardeau, and Jackie and Barbara Whiteside of Charleston; five grandchildren, David (Toni) Whiteside, Matt (Bascha) Whiteside, Daniel Whiteside, Ryan (Saundra) Whiteside, and Jana (John) Russo; five great grandchildren, Tyson Whiteside, Drew and Regan Whiteside, and Carter and Ella Russo.

One daughter Orpha Lucille Whiteside; and four brothers, Loren, Goldie, Earl, and Charlie; and two sisters, Wilma and Lena, preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2010, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010.

Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be David Whiteside, Daniel Whiteside, Matt Whiteside, Ryan Whiteside, John Russo, Dennis Miller, Jim Miller, Russell Hargrave, Sam Brown, Bob Hemmer, and Lyndal Barren.

The family requests that Memorial Contributions be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
