Obituary

RICHARD A. FORBEY, age 68, a resident of Charleston died Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 9, 1947 in Cairo, IL to the late Richard F. "Dick" and Ella Elizabeth Lane Forbey. Following his graduation from Charleston High School, he enlisted in the US Army and served until 1970, then enrolled in Bailey Technical School in St. Louis. Upon completion of his technical training in 1972 he was employed by Cummins Missouri then transferred to Cummins Midsouth in Sikeston where he worked until his retirement in 2009. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Charleston and the International Operating Engineers Union Local #513.

On June 21, 1975 he married Ruth Ann Holt who preceded him in death on August 24, 1999.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter in law, Richard A. and Kristin Forbey Jr. of East Prairie and Ross A. Forbey of Charleston; two sisters, Lana Sue Byford of Corning and Betty Summers of Brook Park, OH; one grandson, Levi Matthew Forbey of East Prairie; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, William F. "Bill" Forbey.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at the McMikle Funeral Home where Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Rev. Jim Malugen, pastor of the First Christian Church in Charleston, will officiate.

Missouri Military Honor Guard will conduct Military Graveside Services at the IOOF Cemetery. Interment will follow under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Pallbearers will be Danny Marshall, Jim Jolley, Mel Goode, Adam Bowles, Matthew Short, and Cully Donaldson. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jake Donaldson.

Memorial Contributions may be given to the First Christian Church, 109 S. Virginia Street, Charleston, MO 63834.
