RICHARD NEAL GAGE, 88, OF Bertrand, died Friday, February 7, 2020, at the Advance Assisted Living Center in Advance, MO.
Born February 25, 1931, at Neelyville, MO, to the late Raymond and Lillian Decker Gage, he had lived in Bertrand most of his life where he was a member of the First Baptist Church and had served the church as a deacon and in numerous other capacities. He was engaged in farming and later went to work with a number of farm implement companies, starting with French Implement Company at Charleston, the R.D. Beasley Equipment Company and the retired from Leible Implement Company in Sikeston after a number of years.
On January 8, 1954, he married Betty Hablutzel, and she survives of the home.
Also surviving are two daughters, Karen Ann (Mark) Chronister of Sikeston and Cynthia Jo (Mark) Silman of Benton; two brothers, Warren Gage of Benton and Don Gage of Lusk Chapel; two sisters, Mary Lou Bradley of Charleston and Theda Williams of Sikeston; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; also, a number of nieces and nephews survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Lynn (Randy) Arnett; three brothers, William Gage, Barney Gage and Dale Gage and by one sister, Maxine Adams.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. His grandson, John Scott Chronister, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Andy Silman, Allan Silman, Keith Chronister, Tanner Chronister, Drew Silman and Noah McGlothlin.
