Richard McGehee, 79, died Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Southeast Hospital in Dexter. He was born June 4, 1939 in Advance to the late Neil Stanley and Nadine (Goza) McGehee. He had been a bus driver for several schools in the area and was also a humane society officer for Sikeston for several years. He had been a resident of Stoddard County for over 30 years, was a member of the Circle City Pentecostal Church and was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He was married to Shirley Ann Belcher May 26, 1979 in East Prairie and she preceded him in death Feb. 17, 2009; He then married Nancy (Aaron) Riley June 26, 2009 in Circle City and she survives of the home in Dexter. Other survivors include 3 sons,: Richard Wayne McGehee of St. Louis; Michael L. Stewart of Tekoa, Washington; and Cary Wayne & Rhonda Stewart of Bertrand; 2 daughters: Tammy Sue & Ron Eifert of Sikeston and Kathy Lynn & Tjay Haynes of Sikeston; 2 sisters: Marcia F. Deal of Circle City and Patricia A. Perry of Malden. Fifteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 son, 1 brother and 1 granddaughter. Visitation will be Monday, June 11 at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 11:00 am until time for services at 1:00 pm. Rev. Dwayne Coleman, pastor of Canalou Baptist Church will officiate and will be assisted by Sister Glenys Duckworth. Burial with full military honors will follow at 3:00 pm at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
