Ricky Alvey

Floyd Richard "Ricky" Alvey, age 69, a resident of East Prairie, died Sunday, August 25, 2024.

Born September 24, 1954, in Mississippi County, MO, to the late Floyd Destes Alvey and Ruby Brothers Alvey, he had lived in East Prairie his entire life and for most of his life he was engaged in farming.

Survivors include his son, Jared (Kristin) Alvey of Jackson, TN; his daughters, Andrea (Jonathan) Biggs of Kansas City, MO and Dessie Alvey of Poplar Bluff; his grandchildren, Ben Alvey and Sam Alvey; his brother, James Alvey of East Prairie; his sister, Patty (Keith) Edwards of East Prairie; his nephew, Ryan (Leslie) Edwards; great nephew, Thurston Edwards; great niece, Rylann Edwards; and a number of cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Colby Daniel Edwards.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon, Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.  Rev. Dawn Walters, pastor of the First Church of God in East Prairie, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.

Pallbearers will be Richard Kelley, Darrell Watson, Andrew French, Clay Skelton, Mike Bryant, Buck Lloyd, Jimmy Reno and Jason Youngblood.
