Ricky Joe Burgess, age 59, of Sikeston, MO died Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born October 3, 1963 in Sikeston, Missouri, to the late Abraham Lincoln Burgess Sr. and Geneva Louelle McCormick.  Ricky loved to fish, loved his family and was a great friend who would help anyone in need.

He is survived by his wife, Tonya Rogers Burgess, his step-daughter, Tosha Scowden of Morehouse, MO, a brother Darius Burgess of Sikeston, MO, his sisters Mary Burgess of Sikeston, MO and Jenneth Holland of Bloomfield, MO, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and six brothers, Leonard Burgess, Lonnie Burgess, James Edward McCormick, Dennis Doyle Burgess, Abraham Lincoln Burgess Jr. and Carl Burgess.

A memorial gathering will be held at McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston, Missouri on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
