Rita Paulette Clardy, age 76, a resident of Charleston, died Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Cotton Point Nursing Home in Matthews, MO.

Born November 25, 1947, in the Pinhook Community of Mississippi County, MO, to the late Harrison Ray Marshall and Audrey Mae Allen Marshall, Rita had lived her entire life in Mississippi County.  She was a former member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wyatt and had also attended the First Assembly of God Church in East Prairie.  Widowed at a young age, Rita spent most of her life caring for her family and especially her beloved daughter, Tamra.

On December 26, 1964, she married Cleman Ray Clardy, who preceded her in death December 19, 1973.

Surviving is her daughter, Tamra Michelle Clardy; her granddaughters, Lacey Michelle Clardy and Brittnee Clardy (Cody) Russell; her great grandchildren, Conner Russell, Kaiden Russell, Lincoln Russell and Delainey Russell; her brother, Danny (Connie) Marshall; also, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Alan Clardy and her sisters, Sheila Georgette Pullen, Elsie Ione Brunck and Cathy Ann Powell.

Private graveside services will be held Friday, April 26, 2024, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.

Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
