Robert Lenard Merrell, age 56 of Sikeston, died Saturday, September 18, 2021, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born August 15, 1965, at Sikeston, to Glenna Jones Merrell, who survives of Sikeston and the late Albert Junior Merrell.   He had lived in Sikeston his entire live and had attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and also the DeVry institute.  While in High School, Robert was active in baseball, and received the Presidential scholarship upon graduation.  Robert loved to cook and steaks were his specialty.   Robert was an avid bowler and golfer having bowled several 300 games.

Surviving besides his mother is his brother, Albert Lee Merrell of Sikeston; his sister, Laura Lynn Denton of Sikeston; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his father, he as preceded in death by his sisters, Linda Kay Heuring and Peggy Jean Hopper.

Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 24, 2021, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston. Keith Olbricht from Shady Acres Church of Christ will officiate.

Interment will in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
