ROBERT MORGAN, Age 80, a resident of rural Charleston, died Friday, June 01, 2012 at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born June 17, 1931, at Datto, Arkansas, to the late Clarence Everett and Pearl Elizabeth Fears Morgan, he had lived most of his life in rural Charleston. A member of the Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston, he was a good Christian and he strewed goodness wherever he went. He was a retired farmer who had a great feel for the land. Gardening was an essential part of Robert's life, not unlike a hobby. He colored his world of gardening with beautiful flowers. Robert loved his family and fellowman.
On May 27, 1955, he married Donna Reeves, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: one son and daughter in law, Robert Neal and Cheryl Morgan of rural Charleston; two daughter and sons in law, Pam and Charlie Butler of Diehlstadt and Beverly and Mike Stash of Sikeston; one brother, Floyd Morgan of Gorham, IL; three sisters, Mary Bonifield, Vena Daughhetee and Dorothy McDowell all of Charleston; five grandchildren, Justin Butler, Matt Butler, Bobby and Crystal Morgan, Gareth Stash and Hannah Stash; two great grandsons, Peyton Morgan and Luke Morgan; step grandchildren, Alim and Amanda Poindexter, Arianna and Aidan, Josh and Susannah Payne and Cody Francis.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Morgan, Murlyn Morgan and Warren Morgan and also two sisters, Lela Guthrey and Nellie Gage.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2012 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2012. John Neely, pastor of the Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Matthew Butler, Justin Butler, Bobby Morgan, Michael Stash, Danny Babb and Brent Peters.
