Robert Lee Tidwell, 66, died at his home near Matthews, Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017. He was born July 23, 1951 in Sikeston to the late Virgil L. and Sharlotte Jolene (Ergle) Tidwell. A resident of this area all of his life, he had worked as a farm laborer. He was married March 10, 1991 to Lois Ann St. Cin at Bloomfield and she survives of the home. Also surviving are 4 sons: Brad Tidwell of Oran, Virgil Tidwell of Wellington, Kansas, Scottie Tidwell of Farmington, & Dustin Tidwell of Sikeston; 1 daughter, Tamara Tidwell of Anniston; 2 step-sons, Robert Buttry of Sikeston and Tim Buttry of Sikeston; 2 step-daughters Marie Harwood of Sikeston and Loretta Buttry of Sikeston; 1 brother, Larry Tidwell of Cooter and 1 sister, Sandra Blackburn of Jasper, Alabama; and 15 grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 grandson, 5 brothers and 1 sister. Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 12 noon till 1:30 pm Wednesday. Graveside Rites will be held at 2:00 PM at Matthews City Cemetery with Rev. Dwayne Coleman, pastor of Canalou Baptist Church officiating.
