Obituary

ROSA LEE FLUEGGE, age 95, a resident of Charleston died Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.


She was born September 23, 1922 in Lusk to the late Charles D. and Clara B. Brawner Martin. After her graduation from Diehlstadt High School in 1947 she moved to Springfield and graduated from Business College. She then returned to Charleston where she was bookkeeper for the RC Davis Gin in Charleston and then employed at the Citizens Bank until her retirement. She was active in the Lutheran Ladies Aid, and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

On June 12, 1949 she married Marvin E. Fluegge who preceded her in death on December 22, 2015.

Surviving are three children, Robert (Irene) Fluegge of Jefferson City, Carolyn (David) Evans of Charlotte, TN and Sharon (Larry) Collins of Charleston; three grandchildren, Luke (Lindsay) Simmons of Cincinnati, OH, Amy (Neal) Thompson of Ankeny, IA and Jessica (Matthew) Weavers of Columbia; and 5 great grandchildren, Olivia and Appie Thompson, Wren Simmons, and Amielia Fluegge and Artemis Weavers.

In addition to her parents and husband, three brothers, James Martin, C.D. Martin, Alfred Martin; and three sisters, Lillie Linebaugh, Addie Linebaugh, and Martha Snowden preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the McMikle Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Daniel Maske of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Luke Simmons, Neal Thompson, Matthew Weavers, Harry Lee Bard, Greg Birk, and Glennon Johnson.
