ROSEY LEE PEMBERTON McCONKEY, Age 80, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at her home in Bertrand.

Born January 25, 1935, at Datto, AR, to the late Freda Mae Pemberton Bickford, she had lived in Mississippi County most of her life where she was a member of the Charleston Church of Christ and had owned and operated Rosey's Trading Post for over 45 years.

On July 25, 1953, she married Charles Russell McConkey II, who preceded her in death October 30, 2002.

Surviving are her children, Beverly (Lester) Bowles of Bertrand and Charles (Pam) McConkey, III of Diehlstadt; five grandchildren, Stephen (Angie) McConkey of Bertrand, Stacey Colbert of Diehlstadt, Charles McConkey IV of Diehlstadt, Chastity Hupp of Sikeston, Stephanie (Christian) French of Sikeston; 12 great granchildren.

She is also survived by her eight sisters, Mary Jo, Lucille, Barbara, Janet, Brenda, Margaret, Jane and Patricia and her two brothers, Sonny and Brian.

Besides her husband and mother, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lola and Dorothy and two brothers, Willie and Charles.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2015, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Bill Bradley of Charleston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
