Roy Douglas Hess

Roy Douglas Hess, age 62, died Monday, January 13, 2025, at his home in Delta, Missouri.

Roy was born November 24, 1962, in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, to the late Roy E. Hess and Aline Baker Hess. He was previously employed with Blair Industries, Havco Wood Products and Delta Public Schools.  He had a passion for derby cars.

He was married to Darla Friedrich Hess in Delta, Missouri on May 10, 1980. She proceeded in him death on June 14, 2015.  He was also proceeded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his children: Jessica Pope, of St. Roberts, MO, Sara (Bobby) Brown, of Perryville, MO, Robert Hess (Alisha Brown) of Perkins, MO, and Dustin (Tammi) Hess of Delta, MO, 12 grandchildren;  Austin Mosley, Joseph McCallum, Zackery Mosley, Brandon Brown, Alexia McLean, Molly Foeste, Blake Brown, Nick Hess, David Hess, Luke Hess, Jake Hess and Wolfgang Hess, one great grandchild; two sisters, Patricia (Bill) Talley, Cape Girardeau, MO and Virginia (Dennis) Robertson of Cape Girardeau, MO.  Also surviving are his beloved pets, Tuffy and Kilo.

The family will have a remembrance gathering Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Delta Fire Hall in Delta, Missouri.

McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
