Obituary
ROY FRANKLIN IVIE, Age 82, of East Prairie, died Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the Charleston Manor.
Born February 8, 1936, at Sassafras Ridge in Mississippi County, MO, to the late Oscar Herman and Willie Ethel Lindsey Ivie, he had lived in Arkansas and Louisiana a number of years where he worked in sales and construction until his retirement. He then returned to East Prairie where he grew up. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
He was married to Barbara Jean Allen who preceded him in death in 2014.
Surviving are one son, David Ivie of Jackson; one daughter, Sherry Ivie of San Antonio, TX; three brothers, Ray (Ruth) Ivie and Jimmy Ivie of East Prairie and Russell Ivie of Florida; four grandchildren; also a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Franklin Ivie and Jeff Sutton; three brothers, Ralph Ivie, Walter Ivie and Barry Ivie and two sisters, Martha Bennett and Geneva Childers.
Family and friends may assemble for graveside services at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie. Larry Ivie, will officiate.
Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
