Ruby O. Butler, age 100, of Diehlstadt, died Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the Bertrand Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born November 21, 1921, at Bigger, AR, to the late Wally Pemberton and Marble Payne Pemberton, she had lived in the Charleston area most of her life, moving to Diehlstadt in the late 1970's.    She was a long-time employee at Widgor's Department Store in Charleston until its closing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Butler.

Ruby is survived by her son, Charles R. (Pam) Butler; her grandsons, Matthew (Natalie) Butler and Justin (Serina) Butler; great grandchildren, Jocelyn Morrison and Brandon Morrison; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford "Doc" Pemberton and Freeman Pemberton and her sister, Freda Mae Bickford.

Private family graveside services will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston.

McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
