RUSS SKINNER, age 73, died Friday, January 18, 2019, at his home in Miner, MO.

Born August 5, 1945, at Ragland, Kentucky, to the late James Doris Skinner and Ella Gertrude Terrell Skinner, he had lived in Bertrand area most of his life and had been employed with Cummins Diesel at Sikeston and as a car salesman. He was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston. He was a member of the Promiselanders Quartet and also The Masters Gospel quartet as a bass singer for over 40 years.

On May 11, 1964, he married Judy Carol Meeks, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are his daughter, Teresa (Steve) Eggers of Sikeston; his sons, Russell Dale (Elizabeth) Skinner of Calvert City, KY and James Darrin (Tracy) Skinner of Sikeston; two brothers, Donnie Skinner of Kevil, KY and Joe Skinner of Paducah, KY; one sister, Lenora Hamm of Sikeston; eight grandchildren, Tiffany, Brandon, Emalee, Adam, Rilee, Reagann, Andrew and Ryan; and five great grandchildren, Dylan, Jackson, Kasen, Brantley, Anzlee.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Skinner, David Skinner and Mike Skinner and by two sisters, Ruth Ellen Crenshaw and Barbara Newton.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon, Monday, January 21, 2019 at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Jason Davis, pastor of Anchor Church in Sikeston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Brandon Byrd, Andrew Skinner, Ryan Skinner, Barry Newton, Rick Skinner, Mark Skinner, Donnie Ray Skinner and Steven Crenshaw.
