Obituary

RUTH ANN (BRUMLEY) BYFORD- BATES, Age 74, a resident of Bertrand, left this earth and went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, August 10, 2012 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born December 24, 1937, at Wyatt, Missouri, to the late Grover Cleveland Brumley and Della David (Miller) Brumley. She had lived in Mississippi County her entire life having lived in Bertrand a number of years. She was a member of the Chapel By The Lake church.

This beautiful woman was full of kindness, determination and was adored by all who knew her. Her radiant smile, good humor and wonderful cooking will be dearly missed by her family which includes; Her loving husband, John Bates of the home in Bertrand; one son and daughter in law, Roger and Angie Byford of Bertrand; one daughter and son in law, Myra and Danny Minehart of Poplar Bluff; one sister and best friend, Sarah Pullen of Wyatt; three grandchildren, Cole Byford and Kaci Byford of Bertrand and Danielle Minehart of Poplar Bluff; and also a host of special nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnny Byford, her second husband, Marshall George and her third husband, Dennis Collinsworth. Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Phyllis Janice Byford; seven brothers, Albert Brumley, Herbert Brumley, Gordon Brumley, Fred Brumley, Ulyes Brumley, Clifton Brumley and David Brumley and six sisters; Lucille Houston, Alma Brumley, Dorothy Brumley, Virginia Vinson, Ella Mae Williams and Earline Hinchey.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 13, 2012 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Rev. Mark Claunch will officiate.

Interment will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Randy Pullen, Mitchell Pullen, Alex Pullen, Richard Smith, Jeff Jernigan, Rick Williams, Tim Williams, Denny Brumley, Paul Brown and George Brown.
